Italian Film Tribute | February 12-22

The Greek Film Archive is hosting a tribute comprising 16 Italian fiction and documentary films online from February 12-22 in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens. All 16 films are new and have earned accolades on the festival circuit. They are all in Italian and will be screened with Greek subtitles.

Ecological Films | Athens | February 5-8

The 16th Panorama of Ecological Films, titled "Windows to our Planet," is a series of screenings co-organized by the Hellenic Society for Environment and Culture and the Greek Film Archive from February 5 to 8. The event is aimed at informing and sensitizing viewers to the issues affecting our planet. Twelve films from nine different countries will be shown.

The Greek Film Archive hosts the 12th installment of the International Science Film Festival, bringing together fiction and documentary films from different parts of the world that are dedicated to technological advances and innovation, the human brain, our understanding of the natural world and the secrets of space, among other topics.

African Film Week | Athens | May 3-9

The Greek Film Archive pays tribute to the fresh and exciting cinema being produced in various African countries with a weeklong festival featuring selections from Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa that explore the big and small issues of their respective societies. Admission is free of charge and screenings start at 7 p.m.
