Ransome-Kuti family

Nigerian singer, guitarist and composer Adedeji Adetayo and his Afrosessioners band return to the stage of Faust in downtown Athens for a high-energy gig that blends traditional West African music with jazz, funk, afrobeat and soul, paying tribute to pioneers Fela Kuti and Manu Dibango. Doors open at 9.30 p.m. and admission costs 5 euros.

Choreographer Serge Aime Coulibaly from Burkina Faso has drawn inspiration from the life and music of the late Nigerian Afrobeat musician and political activist Fela Kuti in a production being presented at the Onassis Cultural Center. Titled "Kalakuta Republik," the work focuses on Kuti's imprisonment in the 1980s and the music that emerged from this experience.

The spectacle " Kalakuta Republic'' will conclude the festival for contemporary dance and peformance One Dance Week on 15th October at 19:30 at the Home of Culture Boris Hristov in Plovdiv.
