BELGRADE - The new building of the Belgrade Center train station at Prokop was opened on Friday at a ceremony also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The building - as well as the station itself, whose construction began almost five decades ago - was opened on October 20, the day of Belgrade's liberation from Nazi occupation in WWII.

After reading the verdict, the president of the Trial Chamber announced that the accused Radomir Markovic and Milan Radonjic were sentenced to 30 years in prison. Miroslav Kurak and Ratko Romic received 20 years each, Prva TV reported on Friday.

A new survey published on Thursday by a regional network of NGOs, Pointpulse and the Belgrade Center for Security Policy, shows that well over half of all surveyed citizens in the Western Balkans - 58 per cent - trust their police forces despite viewing them as corrupt.

Indictment raised in Ćuruvija case

BELGRADE -- The indictment for the murder of Slavko Ćuruvija has been raised 15 years after the journalist and publisher was shot and killed outside his home in Belgrade.

The accused are former members of the State Security (DB) Radomir Marković, Milan Radonjić, Ratko Romić, and Miroslav Kurak.
