Govt launches dialogue with NGOs representing old and young
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Rober Golob met with representatives of NGOs advocating for the young and the old on Thursday. The meeting, which Golob said was “definitely not the last”, agreed on the creation of task forces which will address some of the most urgent issues.
Pensioners plan to work with new govt despite losing advocates
Ljubljana – The Union of Pensioners’ Associations (ZDUS), Slovenia’s biggest organisation of pensioners, plans to work with the new government after two parties that have pensioners at the core of their agenda, the Pensioners’ Party (DeSUS) and the Alenka Bratušek Party (SAB), did not make the cut to enter parliament.
New political movement emerges
Ljubljana – A new political movement called Povežimo Slovenijo (Unite Slovenia) has emerged. The initiative is wants to bring together a number of smaller, non-parliamentary parties, groups, local initiatives and individuals of various values and political stances to form a joint slate for the next general elections.

Coalition committed to upgrading pension system
One of the coalition's priorities will be trying to build a consensus as soon as possible on how to amend the pension system to ensure its long-term financial sustainability. They also want to transform the Pension Fund Management (KAD) into an independent Demographic Fund.
