Katerina Sakellaropoulou to Be Honored with Athens’ Democracy Award by Haris Doukas
The President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is scheduled to visit the Stoa of Attalos at 18:45, where she will be presented with the “Democracy Award of the City of Athens” by Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, as part of the Athens Democracy Forum. The award recognizes her significant contributions to the promotion of democratic values.
New heatwave rolls into Greece
A visitor at the Stoa of Attalos in the Ancient Agora of Athens fans herself as a new heatwave gripped Greece on Friday. The National Observatory's Meteo weather service reported that the highest temperatures on Friday were recorded in Akrotiri in Hania on Crete, which hit 42.6C, and in Thiva, at 42.2C.

Concern over rise in intubated Covid patients

Greece's Culture Ministry announced on Monday that it was closing the museum of the major archaeological site for two weeks after a cleaner there was diagnosed with Covid-19.

Athens Ephorate of Antiquities' employees tested for coronavirus
A team from the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) conducted on Wednesday 36 tests on employees working for the Athens Ephorate of Antiquities as part of its tracing system, after a cleaner tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.
