Minister addresses business conference Texas Feels Slovenia
Dallas – Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik on Friday addressed the opening of a business and investment conference Texas Feels Slovenia as part of his visit to the US. According to the ministry, a number of potential US business partners and investors attended the conference.
Digitalisation and AI in focus at Slovenia Expo pavilion next week
Dubai – A delegation of 36 Slovenian business representatives of 19 companies is heading to Dubai on Sunday for a three-day visit of the Expo show focussing on digitalisation and artificial intelligence. The country’s administration minister will also be on hand.

Ljubljana – Slovenian volunteers clock in over 7.3 million hours of work annually, Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik noted in his address to a two-day virtual congress of Slovenian volunteers, which started on Thursday, focusing on the role of volunteers and solidarity in addressing social and environmental challenges.
Slovenia to roll out biometric identity cards in March
Ljubljana – An agreement on the production of Slovenia’s new biometric identity cards was signed on Monday. The new ID cards will cost 29 euro and contain multiple identity markers and security features. It is expected that Slovenia will start issuing them in March next year.
Digital transformation in focus as Montenegrin public administration minister visits
Ljubljana – Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik met his Montenegrin counterpart Tamara Srzentić in Ljubljana on Wednesday. The pair shared the view that the pandemic has exposed the urgency for the public sector to digitalise, in which context they highlighted the citizens’ trust in new solutions as a key condition.
Space now in Slovenian focus at Expo
Dubai – After focusing on business in the weeks after the official opening, activities at Slovenian pavilion at the Expo Dubai will revolve around space and space technology in the second half of October.
As of Sunday, Slovenian companies will be featured under the Universe topic in the pavilion, while a delegation of space-tech companies will visit the Expo on Wednesday.

Decarbonisation of economy must be balanced, says Počivalšek
Brussels – Decarbonisation of the economy must be evenly spread across sectors and EU countries, said Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek after Wednesday’s session of EU ministers in charge of competitiveness, who gathered in Brussels to discuss the impact of the Fit for 55 package on the competitiveness of the European economy.
Govt raises funding for municipalities
Ljubljana – The government adopted a decree on Sunday, raising the lump sum which municipalities receive per resident from the state. In 2022 the sum will rise from EUR 628 to EUR 645 and in 2023 to EUR 647, the Public Administration Ministry said on Twitter.

Govt and Ljubljana expand cooperation agreement
Ljubljana – A cooperation agreement between the government and the Ljubljana municipality which was signed in May has been expanded by additional 21 projects. Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković and Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik signed the amendments on Friday.
