Digital transformation in focus as Montenegrin public administration minister visits
Ljubljana – Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik met his Montenegrin counterpart Tamara Srzentić in Ljubljana on Wednesday. The pair shared the view that the pandemic has exposed the urgency for the public sector to digitalise, in which context they highlighted the citizens’ trust in new solutions as a key condition.
Koritnik and the Montenegrin minister of public administration, digitalisation and media discussed public administration reform, digital transformation, development of e-services, and local government, the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release.
The Slovenian minster presented the introduction of electronic ID, which will be available at the start of next year, and the project to set up Slovenia’s Digital Twin.
“Electronic ID with biometric data is a major step towards modern digital services which are safe and reliable,” Koritnik was quoted as saying.
He said the wish was for digital identity to become a benchmark in the region. This is the reason Slovenia cooperates with Western Balkan countries in developing these services.
Srzentić is also scheduled to meet Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti, who is in charge of media. The pair will discuss media literacy, digitalisation and Slovenia’s EU presidency.
