Coalition, opposition clash over nominations for RTV Slovenija
Ljubljana – The Credentials and Privileges Commission proposed that the National Assembly appoint to the programme council and supervisory board of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija five candidates each who had been proposed by the coalition, the Pensioners’ Party (DeSUS) and the opposition National Party (SNS) much to the chagrin of the centre-left opposition.
EU’s chief prosecutor visiting Slovenia
Ljubljana – European Chief Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kövesi will visit Slovenia on Monday to discuss the cooperation of the country’s prosecutors with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) after Slovenia’s two European delegated prosecutors have recently been appointed following a delay.

Portorož hosting WTA 250 tournament
Portorož – The Slovenian seaside resort of Portorož is hosting the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) circuit this week for a WTA 250 tournament with a prize money of 235,238 US dollars.
The tournament will open with a ceremony later on Monday followed by an all-Croatian match between Donna Vekić and Ana Konjuh.
