Ski jumpers, basketball team, Lampič, Ozmec win top sports prizes

Brdo pri Kranju – The Slovenian women’s ski jumping team, men’s basketball team, cross-country skier Anamarija Lampič and former para athlete and sports official Peter Ozmec are the recipients of the 2021 Bloudek Prizes, the highest national awards for current and lifetime achievements in sports.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Lampič and Urevc third in team event in Oberstdorf

Oberstdorf – Cross-country skiers Anamarija Lampič and Eva Urevc won bronze in the women’s team event at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany, on Sunday. The pair fell short of gold by 3.46 seconds. Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Sundling won the race.

Second place went to Switzerland’s Nadine Fähndrich and Laurien van der Graaff.

Lanišek wins bronze at Nordic World Ski Championships

Oberstdorf – Slovenia’s ski jumper Anže Lanišek won the bronze medal on the normal hill at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf on Saturday. Gold went to Polish Piotr Zyila, while German Karl Geiger was second.

Touching down at 102.5 metres in the first round, Lanišek was in place two before the second round, lagging three points behind Zyla in first place.

Cross country skier Lampič second in classic sprint

Falun – Cross country skier Anamarija Lampič was second in the FIS World Cup women’s sprint classic final in Falun, Sweden, on Sunday. She finished 0.33 seconds behind Linn Svahn and ahead of Jonna Sundling, both of Sweden.

Sundling and Lampič finished in the same time, with Sundling taking third place after the judges viewed the photo finish footage.

Slovenia’s Lampič third in World Cup sprint race

Dresden- Fresh from being declared Slovenian female athlete of the year, cross-country runner Anamarija Lampič finished third in Saturday’s World Cup sprint in Dresden, Germany.

The top three finish came even though Lampič lost a pole soon after the start and was forced to run with one pole for a part of the race.
