After appeal, Lampič wins second place
St. Moritz – Slovenian cross-country runner Anamarija Lampič officially finished second in the 1 January World Cup freestyle sprint event, after an appeals commission upheld Slovenia’s complaint against a decision that relegated her to second place for standing in the way of a fellow competitor.
“The decision of the appeals commission is that Anamarija Lampič be returned to second place and her penalty be changed into a yellow card,” the Slovenian Ski Association said on Sunday.
The decision means Lampič now has three individual podium finishes this season along with third place in the team sprint finals together with Eva Urevc.
