Power Outages Persist: Numerous Bulgarian Settlements Still in Darkness
Disaster recovery efforts have slowly commenced, but numerous Bulgarian settlements continue to face a severe lack of electricity. "Bulgarian Railways" (BDZ) has confirmed the restoration of all main rail lines, yet complications persist in several municipalities, notably in the Ruse villages of Borovo, Dve Mogili, and Vetovo, where a state of emergency has been declared.
Croatian Police Charge Men for Chanting Anti-Serb Songs
After an incident on Sunday, Orthodox Easter, in the village of Borovo in eastern Croatia, when a group of men chanted anti-Serbian songs, Croatian police announced that they will charge the suspects.
Police on Monday said that they had arrested 14 men from the Vukovar-Srijem County "on suspicion of … public incitement to violence and hatred".
Bulgaria: Evacuation of Hundreds after Gas Leak
A gas leak from a railway tanker was stopped by firefighters at the station in the town of Borovo, Ruse region.
This was announced by the director of the regional fire department, Commander Valentin Krasnaliev, to the Bulgarian National Radio.
