The former head of the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), Andreas Georgiou, has been cleared of any wrongdoing for staying in his role at the International Monetary Fund during his first months as the Greek statistics chief.

Independent Greeks leader calls for probe into 2009 deficit
Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos on Friday called for a parliamentary investigation into allegations that Greeces 2009 public deficit figure was manipulated.
Kammenos accused the government of covering for ex-Prime Minister George Papandreou and former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou.
