Polish referee invited to officiate in Greece is replaced after tussle with Greeks
As if Greek soccer did not have enough problems of its own, it suffered on Sunday an imported scandal, as a Polish referee hired to officiate a Super League game was involved in a tussle with Greek passengers, after allegedly getting drunk during his flight to Athens, although he claims he was sober and was attacked himself.
Marseille-Galatasaray match halted after rivals fans clash
The Europa League game between Marseille and Galatasaray was interrupted for about 10 minutes after rival fans threw flares and firecrackers at each other at Stade Velodrome on Sept. 30.
The match finished 0-0 but pockets of rival fans were fighting inside the stadium more than 30 minutes after the final whistle.
