Serbian Ex-Minister Awaits Corruption Retrial Verdict
The Higher Court in Belgrade will hand down a new verdict in the retrial of a former Serbian economy minister, Predrag Bubalo, on Friday. The retrial was ordered after his earlier acquittal of charges of abuse of office was reversed.

The Interior Ministry said police were working on the case "intensively."
Bubalo acquitted of fraud charges in Port of Belgade case
BELGRADE - The Special Department for Organised Crime of the Higher Court in Belgrade on Tuesday acquitted former Serbian minister of economy and privatisation Predrag Bubalo and several others of fraud in the 2005 sale of state-owned shares in the Port of Belgrade to the Luxembourg-based company Worldfin, owned by Serbian businessman Milan Beko.
Former economy minister acquitted in abuse of power trial

The group was charged with abuses committed during the 2005 sale of state-owned shares in the Port of Belgrade (Luka Beograd) company to Luxembourg-based Worldfin, whose owner is businessman Milan Beko.
Beko, who also followed the closing arguments of the prosecution and of the defense, was in the courtroom today for the reading of the verdict.
Indictment against accomplice in attempted murder of Beko
The Higher Court in Belgrade has confirmed the indictment against Maja Adrovac, who has been charged as an accomplice in the attempted murder of Milan Beko.
Adrovac can appeal against this decision before the Court of Appeals that will rule on the indictment's validity. The trial can be scheduled only once this takes place.

Businessman Beko in stable condition
BELGRADE - Businessman Milan Beko (53) is in a stable condition and his postoperaive recovery is going well, director of the Clinical Center of Serbia Miljko Ristic said on Monday.
It is difficult to make any prognoses but so far there are no signs to indicate the risk of developing complications, Ristic told Tanjug.

Businessman Milan Beko shot in Belgrade
BELGRADE - Businessman Milan Beko received two gunshot wounds outside of his home in Belgrade on Friday.
Beko was ambushed and shot twice in the stomach.
His driver took him to Urgentni Centar, a hospital that only takes emergency cases, where he was immediately sent into surgery.
