Wizz Air has quietly ceased operations on flights from Sofia to both Geneva, Switzerland, and Lisbon, Portugal. Tour operators informed TravelNews about the cancellations, noting that groups scheduled for these destinations were affected.

Wizz Air, Europe's fastest growing airline and the world's most environmentally sustainable*, will increase the number of flights from Varna, Larnaca and Cluj-Napoca to offer passengers even more opportunities to explore the best destinations in its network during the summer and fall seasons.

Since its first flight from Sofia in 2005, the airline has now transported over 26 million passengers.

Hungarian-owned carrier Wizz Air experienced a remarkable surge in popularity among Cypriot travelers in 2023, with a staggering 71% increase in passengers compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 2.2 million passengers, as announced by the company.
