Giorgos Aftias won 310,876 votes, way ahead of all other Greek candidates in the European Parliament elections. On Cyprus, 24-year-old YouTuber Fidias (Panayiotou) came out of nowhere - Kasselakis style - and, declaring that he knew nothing about Europe, took 20 percent of the vote.

Mitsotakis contacts mayor-elect Beleri to congratulate him on his election in the EP
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis contacted the newly elected MEP Freddy Beleri in jail, on Monday, to congratulate him on his election in the European Parliament for his New Democracy party.
Beleri, who is the elected mayor of Himara, was sentenced to two years in jail after an Albanian court found him guilty of corruption charges.

Fredi Beleri named ruling ND candidate in European elections
Ruling New Democracy announced Fredi Beleri, an ethnic Greek mayor-elect in Albania recently sentenced to two years in prison for vote-buying, as a candidate for the upcoming European Parliament elections.
He was represented by his brother, Leonardo, at the ballot announcement in downtown Athens, as Beleri is currently in Albanian police custody.
