Unprecedented incident: US F-18 shot down by friendly fire in the Red Sea

The U.S. Central Command for the Middle East and Africa (CENTCOM) announced that an F/A-18 fighter jet of the U.S. Navy was shot down on Sunday over the Red Sea in “an apparent case of friendly fire.”

The fighter jet was downed by a missile accidentally launched from the USS Gettysburg cruiser.

The U.S. military conducted an airstrike late Monday on a Houthi command and control facility in Yemen's capital, Sanaa. According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the targeted site was used as a hub to coordinate the rebels' operations, including attacks on American naval vessels and merchant ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Aid enters Gaza under new deal as Israel continue strikes

Aid trucks entered Gaza from southern Israel yesterday through a new agreement to bypass the Rafah crossing with Egypt after Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of it earlier this month amid heavy shelling in the southern region.

But was unclear if humanitarian groups would be able to access the aid because of ongoing fighting in the area.

First aid enters via US-built pier as strikes continue in Gaza

The first trucks began supplying aid to war-ravaged Gaza from a temporary pier on Friday, the U.S. military said, as fighting raged in the Palestinian territory.

U.S. Central Command said "trucks carrying humanitarian assistance began moving ashore" via the long-awaited pier, a day after it was anchored to a Gaza beach.
