In a concerted effort, Bulgaria and Romania are actively pushing for the construction of a second bridge over the Danube, linking Ruse, Bulgaria, and Giurgiu, Romania. Deputy Minister of Transport Dimitar Nedyalkov shared this development during the regional conference on the project "Europe in the Balkans: Common Future," organized by the Bulgarian news agency BTA.

RUSE, Bulgaria (AP) — Bulgarian prosecutors have opened an investigation into the suspected misuse of European Union funds, following the brutal slaying of a television reporter who highlighted possible government corruption.

The presidents of Bulgaria, Austria and Romania Rumen Radev, Alexander van der Bellen and Klaus Iohaniss will hold an informal meeting in Rousse on Friday.
