Another EUR 9mn to repair flood-damaged homes

BELGRADE -- Marko Blagojevic says the government has so far allocated RSD 4.2 billion for the reconstruction of houses damaged in the May floods.

It also "secured another EUR 9 million for the coming year," explained the director of the Serbian Government Office for Reconstruction and Flood Relief.

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian Government Office for Reconstruction and Flood Relief Marko Blagojevic said that the government has so far allocated RSD 4.2 billion for the reconstruction of houses damaged in the May floods and secured another EUR 9 million for the coming year.

AGERPRES special correspondent Florian Copcea reports: A Romanian Cultural Centre came into being in the Serbian town of Kladovo, intended for the Romanian national minority in the Techia-Prahovo cross-border region.

TEKIJA - All houses will be repaired or rebuilt and the government and Armed Forces will always be with their people, Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said in Tekija, adding that he came there to encourage the locals after the recent floods that hit the area and to tell them that the government will do everything it can to bring life there back to normal.

KLADOVO - About 500 people who were almost impossible to reach by land have been evacuated from Tekija and other villages in the municipality of Kladovo, eastern Serbia, where rain is still falling, and the situation is most serious is in the village of Grabovac, Belgrade-based B92 media house reports.

BELGRADE - Serbian police evacuated around 370 people from the flood hit areas in the municipality of Kladovo, eastern Serbia, late on Monday.

Around 300 people were evacuated from Tekija, including a woman and her one-and-a-half months old baby, Serbian Ministry of the Interior (MUP) said in a release.
