Türkiye rescues 25 irregular migrants in Aegean Sea
The Turkish Coast Guard said Monday that it rescued 25 irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Marmaris district in Türkiye's southwestern Muğla province.
The irregular migrants were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek coastal authorities, said the Coast Guard Command.
Charred landscape of southern provinces coming back to life
The charred landscapes of the southern provinces of Antalya and Muğla marred by the devastating forest fires in 2021 are now witnessing a remarkable rebirth.
The fires that burned for two weeks started in Manavgat-Antalya on Jul. 28, 2021, and spread to Muğla's Köyceğiz district the next day. The blazes were brought under control on Aug. 12.

Marmaris Nature Volunteers, who came together after the large-scale wildfires in Antalya and Muğla provinces two years ago, have so far planted 20,600 saplings and more than 40,000 seeds in the burnt areas while also organizing regular garbage collection events around the region.

Turkish travel writers have listed the most 10 beautiful coves one can visit during a blue voyage in the Aegean and the Mediterranean Seas, with the Cove of Bedri Rahmi topping the list.
The cove in the southwestern province of Muğla's Göcek neighborhood is named after famous Turkish poet, writer, and painter Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu, who died in 1975 at the age of 64.

Centers formed to protect wildlife animals impacted by wildfires
Türkiye has decided to establish centers to protect and rehabilitate wildlife animals following the wildfires in the Aegean province of Muğla's Marmaris district, said Hüseyin Gökçe Meşe, an official from the Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP).
Some 4,500 hectares of land burned in Marmaris wildfires
Some 4,500 hectares of green lands have been turned to ashes by the wildfires that took five days of massive efforts in the Aegean province of Muğla's Marmaris district before being put out completely.
The first wildfires in the country this summer started late on June 21 in the Börtübed neighborhood as an arsonist set fires in three locations inside the Calabrian pine forests.
Marmaris wildfire may be close to being contained: Minister
The arsonist who started the wildfires late on June 21 in the southwestern province of Muğla's Marmaris district was detained late on June 23 and arrested early June 24.
The 34-year-old Sacit Ayhan admitted that he started the fires after getting furious about a "commercial dispute inside the family."
