Police Detain 27 Illegal Migrants Aboard Cargo Train in Bulgaria's Kaspichan

Bulgarian authorities detained 27 foreigners after stopping a cargo transit train for inspection at the railway station in the town of Kaspichan on Sunday evening.

Prior to stopping the train, workers at the railway station in the town of Provadia submitted a signal after noticing people in one of the wagons of the cargo train.

Cabinet Allocates BGN 500 000 for Restoration of First Bulgarian Capital Pliska

The Bulgarian cabinet allocated on Thursday BGN 500 000 for archaeological and restoration works at the first Bulgarian capital of Pliska.

This was announced after a meeting between Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova, Director of the National Historical Museum (NIM) Bozhidar Dimitrov, the mayor of the nearby town of Kaspichan and archaeologists.

Bulgaria’s Kaspichan Holds Referendum on Medical Waste Incineration Plant

Bulgaria's northeastern town of Kaspichan is holding a referendum on banning the exploitation of a medical waste incineration facility.
Around 2800 residents of Kaspichan are eligible voters in the local referendum, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.
Polls open at 6 am and close at 7 pm on Sunday.
Locals may cast their ballots at six polling stations.
