Civil service opens jobs for the long-term unemployed
The Greek Manpower Organization (OAED) will be accepting applications starting Tuesday from people aged 55-67 who have been registered as unemployed with OAED for at least a year for 10,000 jobs in the broader public sector, including state companies and agencies, as well as municipal authorities.
The initiative is aimed at cutting Greece's jobless numbers.
Small decrease in registered jobless at OAED

The number of registered unemployed at the Greek Manpower Organization (OAED) posted a small annual decline of 1,171 workers in March, bringing the total to 1,057,050 people. In February it had come to 1,061,221.

Unemployed Greeks to get free IT lessons
The Greek Manpower Organization (OAED) is launching a pilot program to test a scheme created in cooperation with Microsoft and aimed at training jobless people in information technology for free, with the eventual aim of expanding to all registered unemployed.

OAED records slight rise in unemployment register in July
The Greek Manpower Organization (OAED) announced on Thursday a slight rise of 1.84 percent in its unemployment register in July, with figures pointing to 835,282 people, as opposed to 820,156 people the previous month.
OAED launches 54-mln scheme to help create 10,000 new jobs
The Greek Manpower Organization (OAED) announced on Monday the launch of a subsidized program for businesses to hire a total of 10,000 unemployed Greeks.
OAED said that companies would be able to submit their applications from March 21. The program, which runs to 54 million euros, is co-financed by the European Social Fund.
