WTA tournament returning to Portorož after ten years
Ljubljana – A tournament of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) series is returning to Slovenia, as the national federation has been successful in bidding to host a US$125,000 prize money tournament for ladies in the seaside resort of Portorož between 13 and 19 September.
Romania's Halep-Olaru duo advances to 2019 Eastbourne tournament doubles semis
Romanian duo Simona Halep and Raluca Olaru qualified for the doubles semis of the grass-court tournament in Eastbourne (WTA) - 2019 Eastbourne - Great Britain, with prizes worth 998,712 US dollars, after defeating the pair made up of Alicja Rosolska (Poland)/Zhaoxuan Yang (China), with a score of 2-6, 6-0, 10-5. The Romanian nationals managed to win the event in 61 minutes.
Hercog wins WTA Ladies Open Lugano
The Maribor native will get USD 43,000 and 280 points for the win, skipping from place 89 to around 65 in the WTA ranking.
This was Hercog's third title following two WTA tournament wins in Bastad in 2011 and 2012.
"I can't even describe how happy I am right now. I waited a long time for this third title, but the hard work and faith in my abilities paid off," Hercog said.

Tennis: Four Romanian players among the seeded players at BRD Bucharest Open (WTA)
Not less than four Romanian tennis players are among the seeded players at the BRD Bucharest Open (WTA) tournament, equipped with total prizes worth 226,750 US dollars, to start on Monday on the BNR Arenas in the Capital City: Mihaela Buzarnescu is 2nd seeded, Irina Begu, last edition's winner, is 3rd seeded, Sorana Cirstea is seed no. 5 and Ana Bogdan is seed no. 6.
Parmentier wins in Istanbul to end 10-year title drought
Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier ended her 10-year wait for a third WTA title by beating Polona Hercog 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the April 29 final in Istanbul.
