At the beginning of the summer, the Bulgarian national carrier once again pleasantly surprised all travelers with the opening of two new direct lines from the seaside city of Varna - to the Czech capital Prague and to the German metropolis Frankfurt.

Exciting news for travel enthusiasts and vacation planners as Varna Airport gears up to introduce regular flights to Paris starting from April 12, 2024. This seasonal flight route will operate every Friday, spanning until September 27, offering a convenient link between Varna and the heart of France at Orly Airport.

Four flights to and from Varna airport have been canceled due to bad weather conditions, according to a reference on the airport's website.

Two of the flights are operated by Turkish Airlines.

Passengers barricaded themselves in a plane of a low-cost company, which landed in Varna instead of Sofia Airport without notifying them in advance.

The case is from Friday and it became clear after videos circulated on social networks today.

Due to the strikes at the German airports, 19 flights to and from the airports in Sofia and Varna have been canceled for today and in the early hours of tomorrow.

Hundreds of passengers were blocked at Sofia Airport because of delays in several flights of the national carrier Bulgaria Air this night.

With more than three hours the flights from Sofia to Varna were postponed. The flight to Burgas was also postponed with several hours.

And there are currently non-scheduled flights.

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, welcomed 1 new, highly efficient Airbus A320 in Bulgaria and launched 6 new routes from Varna. The new destinations from the sea capital are Berlin, Cologne, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Liverpool and Paris, with the first flights from Varna to Copenhagen, Hamburg and Berlin.

Expectations for a weaker tourist season this year have been justified, but the airport is doing its best to offer excellent conditions for passengers and air carriers. The two maritime airports of Varna and Burgas are expected to meet 5 million passengers this year. 2 million at Varna Airport and 3 million at Burgas Airport.
