Canadians gave Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party a victory in Sept. 20's parliamentary elections, but his gamble to win a majority of seats failed and nearly mirrored the result of two years ago.

My youth was spent hating him. Of course we did not know that, in the coming decades, my generation and I would develop a bigger capacity for hate and bigger reasons to accommodate hatred. 

Those who came after him actually did broaden our ability to hate.
