Kuwait marks 53 years of independence

BELGRADE - The Kuwaiti Embassy in Belgrade held a reception at Hotel Hyatt in Belgrade on Monday evening to mark 53 years of independence.

Ambassador Yousef Ahmad Abdulsamad said on the occasion that diplomatic relations between Serbia and Kuwait have spanned over more than fifty years, and noted that the countries have friendly ties and that there are no open issues.

Kuwait's participation in the construction of the Prokop railway station in Belgrade is already known, and that loan is just the beginning in a series of investments that will come from Kuwait, Ambassador Abdulsamad told Tanjug.

The reception brought together several hundred guests, including Serbian Minister without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin, German Ambassador Heinz Wilhelm, Norwegian Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvag, Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic and Princess Katarina and others.
