Udovicic congratulates Serbian players on Monterrey triumph
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic sent congratulations on Monday to the Serbian tennis players Ana Ivanovic and Jovana Jaksic, who played the first ever all-Serbian WTA final in the Mexican city of Monterrey.
In the final showdown late on Sunday, local time, Ivanovic defeated her young compatriot by 6-2, 6-1 and notched up her thirteenth career title.
The final match took place on the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, April 6, which made this event even more significant.
"Dear girls, thank you for the excellent match you played. It has been a great pleasure to see two competitors from Serbia playing in the final. I would like to send my heartfelt congratulations to you both and wish you success through the rest of the season. We believe in you,” Minister Udovicic states in his message.
