Student entrepreneurs present products at fair in Kragujevac

BELGRADE – Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia Nils Ragnar Kamsvag opened the 2013/2014 Student Enterprise Fair in Kragujevac on Thursday, a presentation of products and services of over a dozen student companies operating in Serbian cities.

Kamsvag said that innovation is one of the most important ways of accessing the market in successful economies, adding that new technologies and products are changing the face of society.

He observed that young people in northern Europe have three times more chances of succeeding in business than young people in the south of Europe.

Pointing out that the new Serbian government prioritizes support and long-term plans for private sector growth, Kamsvag said that young people need to foster an entrepreneurial spirit to be able to start their own businesses.

This trade show, showcasing great ideas, is a remarkable beginning for the development of student entrepreneurship and we would be happy to see the subject of youth entrepreneurship taught in your schools like in Norway, said the Norwegian ambassador.

The one-day fair, held with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Serbia, brought together student companies from Sid, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kragujevac, Cajetina, Kraljevo, Pirot, Paracin and Jagodina.

The student companies competed for prizes in 3 categories: Best Business Plan, Best Stand/Logo/Image and Best/Most Innovative Product/Service.
