Minister of Sport Vanja Udovicic: Clubs to get bosses soon

Serbian sports clubs are aware that privatization is an inevitable process that should follow very soon.

That is clear to the Ministry of Sport as well. Minister Vanja Udovicic has held until so far more than 30 meetings with clubs and associations the topic of which was privatization.

 

- We had a very constructive and correct meeting with Minister Udovicic. He is very well acquainted with the subject and has good vision how the biggest sports clubs in Serbia, the Red Star and the Partizan should be privatized – Dragan Djuric, the Partizan President says.

 

The Ministry has concluded that the present situation cannot remain any longer and is aware of the fact that Serbian sports clubs have to share the destiny of the people in the country.

 

Economists also think that sports clubs in Serbia should be privatized the soonest possible, but also that the privatization has to be carried out in a professional manner.

 

- Privatization shall put end to political influence on clubs and going of state property into private pockets. If clubs are sold it does not mean sale of state-property they use – economist Mahmud Busatlija said.

- The most important is that there is feeling for sport and for what important for clubs is. I see that the issue of privatization is important for the Government and I think it shall happen soon.
