Ponta: We shall earmark 50 million lei to flood-affected counties
The Government will earmark 50 million lei for removing the effects of floods in the Gorj, Valcea, Arges, Olt, Teleorman and Prahova counties, Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Thursday.
Victor Ponta also added that, if necessary, funds will also be approved for Timis and Caras-Severin counties, after some assessments are carried out first.
'Mr. Minister Dusa is in the Banat area right now and all state institutions are doing their job in Timis, in Caras-Severin. Moreover, in the counties that have already been under a Code Red alert interventions have been made, very many human lives have been saved. I am very sorry about those that could not be saved, but each fireman, policeman, gendarme, all those who were on site have done and are doing their job,' the Prime Minister said in the Government meeting.
The Prime Minister also announced that an assessment of the up-to-date situation of the flood-affected areas will be made in the meeting of the Task Force for emergency situations convened on Thursday evening. AGERPRES
