Foreigners learn unique way of making ceramics
ZLAKUSA - The 19th International Colonyof Fine Ceramics has started in the village of Zlakusa, near the west Serbian city of Uzice, where 10 artists from around the world will have a unique opportunity to make clay objects in a way that has been used there for 400 years.
This traditional fashion of of creating objects of art in open flame is unique in the world, and 310 artists from 23 countries have learned it over the past 18 years.
Artists from Egypt, Mexico, Turkey, Spain, Finland, France, Azerbaijan, Russia and Serbia will attend the nevent during the course of 10 days.
The organiser is the Association Ceramics Zlakusa from Uzice, while the Ministry of Culture and the city of Uzice are the sponsors.
