Elderly Woman Dies in Flood-Hit Eastern Serbia

Flooding caused by heavy rain has claimed the life of an elderly woman in the eastern Serbian village of Tekija.

According to reports of state-run RTS television, some 370 people were evacuated Monday in the region of Kladovo.

Emergency situation has been declared in a number of regions, including Kladovo and Negotin, due to flooded roads and bridges and landslides.

Some of the areas affected by the recent floods are still grappling with the damage caused by the catastrophic flooding that hit Serbia in May.

The torrential rain left many rural areas isolated after cutting power supplies and phone lines.
