Deputy PM Oprea: Romania, China relations excellent in all fields
The relations between Romania and the People's Republic of China are excellent in all fields, not only when it comes to culture, Romanian Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea said on Thursday at Victoria Palace (government headquarters) during the meeting with China's Vice Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli.
"We shall celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations on October 4, Romania being one of the first countries that recognized the People's Republic of China. This year, the meeting between Prime Minister Victor Ponta and [China's] Prime Minister Li Keqiang in the 16+1 format in Bucharest was excellent, as the meetings in Beijing between Premier Ponta, the President of the People's Republic of China [Xi Jinping] and Prime Minister Li Keqiang," Gabriel Oprea said.
The Chinese Vice Prime Minister thanked for the way the authorities welcomed him in Bucharest on Wednesday night; he pointed out that despite the chilly weather, he felt "the warmth of the Romanian hosts' welcome."
Zhang Gaoli also referred to the meeting he had with Premier Ponta on Tuesday in New York, describing the talks as "sincere and enjoyable."
The Chinese official also met with Deputy Prime Minister Liviu Dragnea. Attending the meeting on behalf of Romania were Transport Minister Ioan Rus, Minister-delegate for Budget Darius Valcov and Minister-delegate for Higher Education and Research, Mihnea Costoiu.AGERPRES
