Vucic: Solutions for Zelezara and Petrohemija by New Year

BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday the contiuation of the reforms in Serbia would not be easy, but not that difficult either, because important changes would be made in order to improve production.

According to Vucic, the Serbian government is negotiating with 46 companies whose investments should reach EUR 580 million and provide jobs for 21,000 people.
"These our very important French, Turkish, German, Japanese, Italian, Finnish and other companies. We are close to a solution for FAP, which I cannot say for Zelezara Smederevo," he noted.

A solution for Zelezara and Petrohemija from Pancevo should be found by New Year, he said, adding that the possibility of mining coal in Zapadna Tamnava earlier than expected would start the production of electricity sooner than planned.
"People do not have to be concerned; there will be no power cuts and gas troubles, or increases in power prices," Vucic pointed out.

He said he had had important talks with Clemence Tenis, the owner Tenis, the biggest meat company in Europe, and of the football club Schalke 04.

It is important that Serbia will raise the number of pigs on its farms back to the numbers from 14 years ago, he stated.

But even more important than those 500,000 pigs is the fact that Tenis plans to breed another million pigs through Serbian farmers, he underscored.
"Investments will exceed EUR 200 million. We expect around 8.000 new employees together with contractors," he stated.
