Vujovic to attend Spring Meetings of World Bank Group, IMF
BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic will this week attend the 2017 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, his ministry announced Tuesday.
The meetings, officially slated for April 20-23, will bring together central bank governors, finance ministers and representatives of major financial institutions.
Jankovic ousted from Madrid Open in first round
MADRID - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic was ousted in the opening round of the Madrid Open by Romania's Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday.
World number 131 Cirstea will next play Montenegro's Danka Kovinic.
The total prize money for the tournament in Madrid is USD 4,771,360

Detention for group of identity theft suspects
BELGRADE - The Belgrade Higher Court sentenced to a 30-day detention seven individuals suspected of opening seven phantom companies through identity theft, and the list of companies includes firm Asomakum registered to a forged ID card of Andrej Vucic, the brother of the Serbian prime minister.

Serbia reaches semifinals of U18 volleyball EC for women
SAMOKOV - Serbia's U18 women's volleyball team beat Italy 3-0 (25-18 25-17 25-16) in the 4th round of Group A of the European championship in Bulgaria on Wednesday and qualified for the semifinals.
