Udovicic: Serbia leads in use of EYF grants
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic said during a meeting with newly appointed Head of the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade Tim Cartwright Monday that Serbia was a leader in the use of financial resources of the European Youth Foundation (EYF).
"Of the three million euros that is the total budget of the European Youth Foundation, with their good projects, Serbia's youth manages to withdraw as much as 10 percent for activities carried out in our country. Of the 47 member countries of the Council of Europe, we lead in the number of approved projects aimed at promoting activities and mobility of young people from Serbia," said Minister Udovicic.
Speaking about the activities the ministry is carrying out in cooperation with the Council of Europe, Minister Udovicic particularly emphasized joint activities within the framework of the project of youth mobility through the Youth Card, used in our country by more than 70,000 young people.
"We actively support the transnational ‘All Different - All Equal', ‘No Hate Speech (on the Internet)' and ‘Youth Ambassadors for Peace' campaigns and it is a pleasure for me to know that our activities within these campaigns have been recognized by the Council of Europe as an example of good practice," Udovicic said.
