Icon of Christ in ‘tears’ … since election! (Photos + Video)
Teary-eyed and hopeful that they are witnessing a miracle, thousands of believers have been visiting the Aghios Nikolaos (St. Nicholas) church in Corinth prefecture, in order to pay tribute to the icon of the “Crying Jesus”. Some speak of a miracle and others can’t wait to get there and see the icon up close.
According to Athens sensationalist tabloid Espresso, many of the villagers of Asprokampos (the township where the church is located) claim that they will be guarding the church around the clock and will let no one, including scientists, approach and take a sample of the “tears” to study them.
According to reports, the “tears” appeared on the day of recent national elections, Jan. 25.
