PSD's nomination for Constitutional Court, Simona Maya Teodoroiu is new CCR justice
Simona Maya Teodoroiu was designated on Wednesday by the Senate's plenary meeting to occupy a justice seat to the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), as the position held by former magistrate Toni Grebla was declared vacant, following the latter's resignation.

The designation of Simona Maya Teodoroiu as a CCR justice was endorsed by the Senate through a secret vote, by 87 votes for and 73 against.
Simona Maya Teodoroiu was nominated for this CCR position by the Senate's Social Democrat Party (PSD) group.
Her challenger, Mona-Lisa Neagoe, the National Liberal Party (PNL) nomination lost to Teodoroiu by 73 to 87.

Simona-Maya Teodoroiu graduated from Bucharest University's Law College in 1993.
She has got a PhD in law ? The Romanian Academy, the Andrei Radulescu Legal Research Institute, specialising in Civil Law. Her doctoral thesis entitled "The Civil Repair of Ecological Damage" was worked out with the support of ''Allocation de recherche'' Programme of the University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF, 2002).
Teodoroiu is a senior scientific researcher, 3rd rank (at present an associated researcher) at the Romanian Academy, the Andrei Radulescu Legal Research Institute (1993-1998); an associate professor (1994-2000 ? assistant professor; 2000-2012 ? a reader) ? civil law, the environmental law at the Public Administration College ? The National School of Political and Administrative Sciences (SNSPA) based in Bucharest; a university reader and later associate professor at the Law College of Bucharest Titu Maiorescu University (2012 till now).
