Greek minister: 200 mln euros a year from (projected future) gas pipeline; experts wary

State Minister Alekos Flambouraris confirmed the intent of advance payments of profits — by Russia — from the creation of a new gas pipeline, estimating that its construction would bring more than 200 million a year in profits to the Greek state.

 

However, experts in the market comment that it would be very hard to estimate profits at this extremely early stage, and any such estimate would be completely arbitrary.

 

It should also be pointed out that the South Stream pipeline construction in Bulgaria was never realized since the EU did not give its blessings and Russia cancelled the project for current Turkish Stream pipeline — which is also on the drawing boards.
