Slovenia met 55% of own energy needs in 2020
Ljubljana – Slovenia met 55% of its energy needs from own sources of energy in 2020, reducing its energy dependence by 7 percentage points compared with the previous year, mainly due to reduced import of petroleum products and increased domestic energy production, the Statistics Office said on Monday.

Turkish Stream Could Suffer Delays, Russia Energy Min Admits
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has said construction of the so-called Turkish Stream gas pipeline might begin later than planned.

Russian state gas company Gazprom said Dec. 8 it would set up a company to build a gas pipeline to Turkey, days after President Vladimir Putin announced the new project.
âThe company will be registered in St. Petersburg ... [it] is called Gazprom Russkaya,â Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kuprianov said in a statement.
Russian Energy Minister: Decision to Drop South Stream Is Final
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has said that the decision to stop the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline is final.
"In my opinion, the decision which has been taken is final. We are now committed to building the pipeline with a different route," he stated, as cited by ITAR-TASS and the BGNES news agency.
