Serbs injured, Kosovo police car comes under fire
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Two Serb men in their 20s have been injured in a shooting in northern Kosovska Mitrovica early on Monday.
They are currently treated for their injuries described as non life-threatening.
Deputy Regional Director of the Kosovo Police Besim Hoti told Tanjug the incident happened in front of a local establishment an hour after midnight.
The police are looking for one person believed to have used firearms to injure the two men, he said, adding that "the motive for the attack is not known," and that there were "about 70 guests" in the establishment at the time of the shooting.
In a separate incident, unknown attackers last night opened fire on a Kosovo police vehicle parked in front of the Health Care Center in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.
Nobody was injured as the car was empty at the time, but there was material damage, Hoti told Radio Kontakt Plus.
He added that the police are looking for one person suspected of committing this criminal act.
A series of incidents have occurred in Kosovska Mitrovica over the past several days, starting on Thursday when a 17-year-old Serb was stabbed and seriously injured.
