Tennis: Copil, Ungur win BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy tournament doubles

The Romanian tennis players Marius Copil and Adrian Ungur have won the doubles in the 439,405 euro worth BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy, by defeating in the final 3-6, 7-5, 17-15 the pair of US Nicholas Monroe and New Zealander Artem Sitak, on Sunday, at Bucharest's Arenele BNR.

Copil and Ungur, who have played in this event courtesy to a wild-card granted by the organizers, have imposed after one hour and 42 minutes, at the end of a dramatic game, decided at super tie-break.

They have played on this occasion their first ATP final (simple or double), and were rewarded with 24,280 euro and 250 ATP points.

Marius Copil (24 years old) and Adrian Ungur (30 years old) have qualified in the final after defeating 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 the British pair of Colin Fleming/Jonathan Marray.AGERPRES
