Glitches to travel plans on the May Day public holiday

Railway, Athens Metro and bus and trolley services will be disrupted on Friday, as workers will join the general strike and hold work stoppages for May 1 (Labour Day), a public holiday.

Hellenic Railways (OSE) will stop running all day. The urban railway (proastiakos) will also be on strike, affecting inter-city runs and anyone going to the airport on the Athens Metro, which will only go as far as the Doukissis Plakentias station in its northeastern branch. Disruptions are also expected on Thursday night.

Electric trains, tram and metro will hold work stoppages from the start of the shift until 09:00 a.m.

Buses will operate from 09:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. and trolleys from 08:30 a.m. to 09:00 p.m.
