Milan fair chance to expand economic relations

BELGRADE - Serbian businessmen will in the next six months present concrete proposals for cooperation and exchange experience with their colleagues from other countries in the scope of EXPO Milano 2015 Universal Exhibition, the Serbian Ministry of Economy released.

"Serbia will try to present itself in the best possible way and to use this exhibition as a starting point for new acquaintances and expansion of economic relations with businessmen from other countries," Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic said.

Pointing out that Italy is one Serbia's major trade and investment partners, he voiced hope this will be an opportunity to make new business arrangements with Italian partners to additionally strengthen the two countries' economic cooperation.

EXPO Milano 2015 will be open until October 31 and is expected to include 144 countries and more than 21 million visitors from around the world.

The Italian government exempted Serbia from paying the rent for exhibition pavilions amounting to EUR 500,000, in a bid to help the economic recovery and reconstruction of the country after last year's floods.
