Shiite Mosque explosion kills thirteen, wounds dozens (Videos)

At least thirteen people have been killed in a Shiite Mosque in Kuwait, while dozens more were wounded.

 

The explosion took place in one of the Kuwaiti capital’s most popular mosques at the time of prayer. No organization has yet assumed responsibility for the attack.

 

Shiites are the second largest denomination of Muslim, with 10%-20% in the world ascribing to it, whereas 75%-90% are Sunni.

 

Shiites are also the majority of Muslim believers in Iran, Iraq, Bahrain and Azerbaijan, however most Muslim countries have significant Shiite communities.

 

ISIS, Al Qaeda and the largest jihadist Sunni groups many times target Shiites as non-believers and heretics.
