Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) head Metin Feyzio?lu has condemned the physical assault on Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan, describing the attack as ?fascism.?

?If we ignore this attack and keep quiet, even our houses will turn into dark prisons,? Feyzio?lu said in a written statement on Oct. 1.

The bar union head stated that ?one leader targets someone with whom he is uncomfortable during a public speech, the rest is done by furious gangs.?

The daily Hürriyet office in Istanbul was the target of two attacks last month and political powers failed to adequately condemn them, instead delivering speeches that could incite new attacks, Feyzio?lu added.
