Hurricane Patricia weakens, but still dangerous (pics)

Hurricane Patricia is moving into the interior of Mexico becoming the most furious hurricane ever known to make landfall in the area after the center of its eye crossed the coast of Jalisco state early on Friday evening. Winds are rapidly losing strength.

It is the most powerful tropical cyclone ever measured in the Western Hemisphere as its maximum sustained winds reached an unprecedented 200 mph and central pressure fell 879 millibars.
Despite the hurricane-force winds, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said the hurricane has so far caused less damage than feared. It is now “rapidly weakening”.
