Former Gendarmerie commander to retire due to illness

Former commander of the Serbian Interior Ministry's Gendarmerie unit Gen. Bratislav Dikic has asked to retire due to illness, Vecernje Novosti daily writes.

Dikic also said he was "unjustly and illegally" replaced from the helm of the unit "after he was attacked in the media," and publicly presented confirmation from the court and the prosecution that there had been no legal procedure against him.
