Vojvodina's most powerful crime group dismantled

BELGRADE - Serbian police have arrested 11 people in separate operations - mostly in the northern Vojvodina province - on suspicion of crimes including murders, attempted murders, illegal drug trade and prison escapes, and a large quantity of weapons and ammo has been seized as well, Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Friday.

The most powerful crime group in Vojvodina has been dismantled, he told an extraordinary press conference.

"These operations confirm that there is no crime that will remain untouched or criminals who can feel safe in Serbia," he said.
