A security vehicle transporting cash was robbed on Wednesday on a highway stretch between the towns of Pecinci and Ruma in northwestern Serbia.

The robbers took with them "several million" Serbian dinars.

A handover ceremony was held on Friday for a newly-built safe house in Sremska Mitrovica, a town northwest of Belgrade, in the province of Vojvodina.

The donor, the B92 Fund, handed the facility over the the Center for Social Welfare Sava.

A ceremony in the newly constructed Safe House in Sremska Mitrovica marked the completion of works and the equipping of the facility.

These works lasted about 15 months.

The government is ready to back new projects and job creation, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday.

He made the remark at the launch of a passenger river cruiser at the Vahali shipyard in Sremska Mitrovica.

Police seize 20 tons of tobacco leaves
